"You'll feel a pinch, and a sensation of coldness.  If you feel 
any pain, let me know."

He flinched at the needle.

It took only moments.  The blemish was small.  The scrapings 
went into a specimen case.  I dabbed the small amount of blood 
welling at the site.

"All done?" he asked.

"Yes.  I'll have the results back in a few days, but I can say 
with confidence that finding any abnormalities will be highly 
unlikely."

He sat up slowly.

"Use peroxide on it a couple of times a day.  You shouldn't have 
any scarring there, just some pinkness for a week or so."

"Thanks." He shook my hand.  Warm and steady; no chance of 
fainting here.  Sometimes the strongest looking men have the 
worst reaction.

"Oh, and Mr. Hale?"  He turned.

"Sometimes moles can grow back.  Even harmless ones."

He smiled a little, making his face change in amazing ways.  
"I'm counting on it."
