The title says it all. AUTHOR'S NOTES: Everyone else was doing it, so I had to try too. Conformity is not always a bad thing. Bad Habits (1/1) In her neat and orderly world, he is Hurricane Mulder. The toilet seat raised, calling attention to his presence in her household. The tube of toothpaste squeezed from the middle, the cap never replaced. Whiskers in the sink, its porcelain decorated with dollops of shaving cream. Running shoes forgotten on the bedroom floor. A wet towel draped from the doorknob. His reading glasses, poised at the stacked pinnacle of books by the bed. Her radio alarm, set now to play rock music instead of classical. He has too many bad habits. The surprise of slimy sunflower shells. The orange juice carton left empty. He upsets her equilibrium, her way of life. She smoked cigarettes once. They calmed her, helped focus her ricocheting mind. A nasty habit, one whose scent permeated her entire existence...but one that she perpetually craved. She smiles softly, wiping the sink. He is her bad habit, the one she cannot break. -- "I would rather be a ghost floating at your side seven days and be together, than enter heaven without you. My love for you will always keep me from being a lonely spirit." --Mu Bai to Shu Lien, "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" Like the X-Files?
